Director James Gunn takes Stan Lee's story about a group of criminals along with punching up the emotional aspect of family and combining it with the majestic special effects that have a certain Star Wars kind of feel.
We are introduced to Starlord AKA Peter Quill, using one liners as quick as the draw of his weapons (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana) a badass, independent, Drax, a man with his own revenge agenda (Dave Bautista), Groot, a humanoid plant (voiced by Vin Diesel), and Rocket a gun toting, wisecracking raccoon (voiced by Bradley Cooper) to do battle with Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace), a warrior that obeys to another which I will not give away.
Also helps things that was a hell of a good time at the theater with the well choreographed action sequences and thrilling aerial chases across the universe but it wasn't used for disguise but to match with the great acting and enthralling humanistic story that is followed through the music of composer Tyler Bates plus hits from The Runaways, The Raspberries, and the Jackson 5
Also, it made good use of its supporting cast including John C. Reilly and Glenn Close who look like they are having a blast with their roles.
